5. Optimization of FDM 3D Printer Process Parameters to Minimize Dimensional Errors with PLA Material Using Response Surface Methodology

Summary: This study leverages response surface methodology (RSM) to develop a second-order model for identifying the optimal process parameters to minimize length errors (LE) and diameter errors (DE) in fused deposition modeling (FDM) with PLA material.

Key Findings: The study focused on adjusting layer height (LH) between 0.1 to 0.4 mm and print speed (PS) between 20 to 60 mm/s. The optimized parameters discovered through RSM resulted in significantly reduced dimensional errors compared to the standard settings provided by the UltiMaker Cura software.

These advancements contribute to the precision and reliability of 3D printing, setting a new benchmark for minimizing dimensional inaccuracies in additive manufacturing.

On June 19th, 67, we visited OK Autopart, a leading manufacturer of electrical components, lamps, horns, and with plans to produce their own electric motorcycles. It all began at the CWIE Day KMUTNB 2024 within CIT, and from there, our journey continued to grow. Our participation in the CIT KM Showcase 2024 Knowledge Showing and Sharing II competition made us realize our potential to compete nationally and make a positive impact on the world.
